Seiler’s work captures the surprising beauty of the often stark, sometimes desolate countryside of our region. Growing up on his family’s ranch on the rugged, unspoiled prairie of central North Dakota, he learned to appreciate the importance of quiet observation.
His photographic perspective gives us a better understanding of beauty of our region. Although not immune to the simple attractions of our horizontal vistas, his landscapes are often populated with the abandoned farmsteads or churches that dot the prairie. These poignant, physical reminders of a past rural lifestyle speak to us of lives lived trying to tame the land and survive the weather.
A marketing and communications consultant, Seiler began his career as a broadcast journalist. He transferred his passion for videography to still photography. He exhibits widely throughout the region and is a partner member at Gallery 4 in Fargo. Currently, his photography is on display on the 18th floor at the North Dakota Capitol Building, in Bismarck.
This exhibit is made possible by The Arts Partnership and Hector International Airport.
